Consumer Health Data Policy (Washington State)

Last updated: October 27, 2026

This policy explains how Cadence Path LLC handles "consumer health data" as defined by Washington's My Health My Data Act, for website visitors and clients alike.

Who it covers: the Act protects Washington residents and anyone whose health information is collected in Washington. If you live elsewhere, your own country's or state's laws may give you additional rights, which we also honor.

You can ask us to delete your health information at any time. Email contact@cadencepath.co with "Delete my health information" in the subject line. We reply within 45 days.

What we collect, and why. Our website and booking page don't ask for health information. The client intake form includes optional health and wellbeing questions, and health may come up in conversation or email. This can include physical or mental health conditions, symptoms, medications, therapy or other treatment, and how you're feeling.

Before you become a client, we use any health information you share only to reply to you, arrange or prepare for our conversation, and see whether coaching is a good fit. It stays in our email or notes for up to 1 year after our last contact, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

As a client, we use it only with your consent, given in your Coaching Agreement, to discuss it (including on your intake form), write relevant details in session notes, and coach you and arrange your sessions. Sessions are recorded only if you agree to recordings in your Coaching Agreement. Notes record what you said and want to work on, never a diagnosis.

Where it comes from. From you, in what you tell or write to us.

What we share, and with whom. We never sell consumer health data, and we never share it with your employer or anyone sponsoring your coaching. Service providers that store information on our behalf hold it under contracts that limit what they can do with it; that is not sharing. If you separately agree in your Coaching Agreement to recordings being used for the coach’s professional training, recordings the coach submits for assessment are reviewed only by the ICF assessors and mentor coaches involved. You can withdraw that agreement at any time; recordings already submitted cannot be recalled. With the consent you give on your intake form, in a medical or safety emergency during or around a session, or if we believe someone is at imminent risk of harm, we may tell emergency services and the emergency contact you gave us what they need to know to help.

Your rights. You can ask us to confirm whether we hold your consumer health data, to see it and the list of anyone we've shared it with, to delete it, or to withdraw your consent. Make your request in writing by email to contact@cadencepath.co. We'll respond within 45 days (or tell you within that time if we need up to 45 more days, and why), and delete from backups within 6 months. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with "Appeal" in the subject line; we'll give you our decision in writing within 45 days, and if we still say no, you can complain to the Washington State Attorney General at atg.wa.gov.
